The Paint Wars

It was a normal day until .... the first cup of paint was thrown. After that there was no going back. The two teams were ready and lined up in formation, each assigned a number. There number being called was possibly the key to winning The Paint Wars for their team. If you heard your numbered called you had to run to the center between the two teams and try to catch the flag. There was no way to be sure of your outcome. Could you get the flag or would you be splattered with paint and water and be forced to return to your home base with no glory to speak of.
If your not sure what war Im talking about, today was The Paint Wars! The kids came prepared to get messy but were not sure what we would be doing today. To keep with the space theme we had all the kids bring a white t-shirt and we drew constalations in the morning. Then after breakfest we set out to a small forest by the school and the games began. As I said before there were two teams and each person was given a number and a cup of paint then a monitor stood in the middle and called a random number. Each person with the number that was called had to run and try to catch the flag first, but if your competitor threw paint on you while you had the flag you had to sorrender. After that we played around with some water ballons. As you can imagine the kids had a blast and so did the monitors :). It was a perfect thing to do in the heat today. Tomorrow is bikes so please bring your helmets.
