Planetarium Day!

Today we made our own planetarium right in the school! This was a great activity that the kids loved. Each class was given different assignments to get ready. The older group of kids were told to write a story in English and then make puppets with small wooden sticks and poster board. Meanwhile the youger classes got transparent colored paper and had to make stencils using the paper and star stickers. Once the stencils were made they got a rubber band to attach the stencil to a flashlight.
Once everyone was finished we darkened a classroom allowing no light to enter the windows and gathered the whole camp in the room. Then we turned on our flashlights and started the planetarium. First the younger classes showed off their stencils by creating stars and different colors with the paper. The kids really enjoyed this and like creating a new color from overlapping two different types of colored paper. After we finished playing with the stencils we watched the plays the kids created. We were very impressed with their stories and the other children had a blast watching what would happen next. Watch below to see yourself :). See you all tomorrow!
