It was a great day to be outside in Llanca! Today and next Thursday the kids will take turns rotating two activities: surfing and another bike excursion. This week the younger kids headed in the water while the older group got on their bikes.
Surfing was a blast. We had great instructors that taught the kids windsurfing vocabulary in English. After going through vocabulary and directions we first took the surf boards out without the sail. The kids practiced standing up on the boards by themselves and in pairs. After that we attached our sails to the board and went back out. They windsurfed by themselves, in twos, and even threes and fours.
On the bike rides the kids went back to the pond from the previous week and learned more about the creatures there. They have become very good at catching the crabs. They also got to ride to a wine vineyard and learn how the grapes are grown and processed. Lastly off in a wooded area to cool off and learn about the region.
