Today the older kids had so much fun in the water! We went surfing! The kids got to the beach, changed, and then we got instructions on how to properly stand up on the surf board. Before the surfing we played a game called catch the flag. The class divided up into two teams and were given a number. Then there was a monitor in the middle with the flag that called out a random number. The children on each team with that number had to race to the middle and catch the flag first. Whoever got to it first won that round. It was tough though because you could steal the flag until your opponent got back to the other side.
After the games the surfing started. I believe that the pictures and videos (courtesy of our monitor Julen) can explain better than words so here you go :).
Mean while back at the schools our little ones were enjoying themselves as well. They do physical activity in the morning, learn songs, have playtime in English, read a story, and are hard at work on different arts and crafts. So far the have painted rocket ships and there latest astronaut challenge was making rocket ships. The colored and folded colored paper and then placed it on the end of a straw. Once on the straw the kids got to blow into the straw and say 3 - 2 - 1 blastoff! Take a look at it all:
This week this pretty little girl turned 6! Happy birthday Iris! |
